Community pharmacies play a pivotal role in supporting patients with a cancer diagnosis by providing medication access, education, and side effect management. This session will review common oncology diagnoses, discuss frequently dispensed oncology medications and their management, and explore the evolving role of community pharmacy professionals in oncology care. Join this session to stay informed about emerging treatments and discover how to enhance support for patients navigating their cancer journey.
1. Review oncology diagnoses commonly encountered in community pharmacy settings.
2. Discuss commonly prescribed oncology medications and oncology-related therapies, along with their associated side effects.
3. Describe strategies for managing medication-related adverse effects in oncology patients.
4. Identify the pharmacist’s role in providing education and support to oncology patients and their caregivers.

Meet Your Speaker
Kirollos Hanna, PharmD, BCPS, BCOP, FACCC, FAPO
Director of Pharmacy
Minnesota Oncology
Dr. Hanna is board certified by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties in Oncology Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy. He received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from Florida A&M University, completed his general residency at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, TN and his oncology residency at St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute, Boise, ID. He is currently the Director of Pharmacy at Minnesota Oncology and an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Dr. Hanna serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology (JADPRO). Dr. Hanna’s research interests are focused on B-cell malignancies and genitourinary cancers. He is a recognized Fellow of the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) and the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology/Oncology (APSHO). Dr. Hanna is a Board member of the National Community Oncology Dispensing Association (NCODA).
